Noom announces strategic expansion of its executive team with appointments to key leadership positions

NEW YORK, June 13, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — NO, a leading digital health company committed to preventing chronic disease and empowering people to live better, longer lives, is pleased to announce the appointment of three outstanding executives to its leadership team. Aaron Severs becomes Chief Product Officer, Peter Scherr becomes Chief Marketing Officer, and Dr. Adonis Saremi is promoted to Chief Medical Officer. These strategic hires are expected to strengthen Noom’s innovative approach to health and wellness, driving the company to new levels of growth and success.

Dr. Adonis Saremi, dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics and board certified in Obesity Medicine, transitions to the role of Chief Medical Officer at Noom. Dr. Saremi brings dynamic results and digital health insight to the Noom medical team and will oversee the development and implementation of clinical strategies, ensure the highest standards of patient care, and lead medical research initiatives, including clinical obesity program strategy and training and onboarding of Noom physicians. In his senior role, he will continue to work with the product and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate medical expertise into the Noom offering. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Saremi taught at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Hospital at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. His expertise in scaling physician services to prioritize patient needs is evident from his work with telehealth startups and the Medical Board of California. Dr. Saremi also serves as a judge for the Digital Health Hub Awards at the HLTH Annual Conference and is a member of the American Telehealth Association (ATA) Board of Physicians. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside and a master’s degree in applied physiology and a doctor of medicine from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science.

Peter Scherr joins Noom as chief marketing officer and oversees the company’s global marketing and communications functions. Scherr comes from Incredible Health, where he served as director of marketing for the career marketplace for permanent health care professionals. His extensive experience includes serving as Pagaya’s chief marketing officer, leading the company’s global marketing, design and public relations functions, and playing a key role in Pagaya’s 2022 IPO. Scherr also managed Vroom’s successful 2020 IPO in face of the Covid-19 pandemic. 19 pandemic. Scherr holds an MBA from Wharton University and a BA in International Relations from Lehigh University.

Aaron Severs is a global product leader with a proven track record of delivering software-as-a-service (SaaS) products that drive enterprise-wide growth and recurring revenue. In his new position at Noom, Severs will lead the development and improvement of Noom’s digital health products, ensuring they meet user needs and drive the company’s growth. He will also lead product management teams focusing on B2B and D2C innovation and strategic product initiatives. With over 15 years of experience in product and engineering leadership roles at startups, public and private/PE-backed companies, Severs brings a wealth of expertise to Noom. He joins from DocGo, where he led the launch of on-demand mobile healthcare solutions for consumers and health plans. Before DocGo, Severs founded two startups. He made significant contributions to the wellness software industry at Booker Software and Mindbody, where he led B2B2C product lines serving thousands of businesses and millions of consumers, including marketing automation, e-commerce, and AI messaging products. Severs holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rochester.
