Seed capital in the education/training sector. Onome’s success story

The Niger Delta region of Nigeria is endowed with countless human and material resources. Despite the Niger Delta region’s generous contributions to Nigeria’s wealth, people remain unemployed, impoverished, underdeveloped and plagued by environmental and health hazards. However, due to gross mismanagement, wasteful expenditure, kleptomania and unfavorable policies of various Nigerian governments, these resources have not been optimally utilized or properly channeled into profitable investments that maximize economic benefits to the community. As a result, the region struggles with unemployment and poverty.

Onome Matilda Odogene, a computer engineer with ten years of experience in the oil and gas sector, was interested in entrepreneurship. Its goal was to employ young people from the Niger Delta region in non-oil economic sectors and to place African chefs at the top of the global culinary rankings.

I want African chefs to be at the top of global culinary rankings, equipping them with the professional skills, knowledge and competencies needed to succeed as a chef or food business owner/start-up.”
