Andhra Pradesh government replaces TTD executive director Dharma Reddy with J. Syamala Rao | Andhra Pradesh News

J Syamala Rao is the new Executive Director of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.

Tirupati: With the new government coming to power in Andhra Pradesh, the first change in the bureaucracy began with the removal of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam executive director AV Dharma Reddy.

The alliance government has appointed senior bureaucrat J. Syamala Rao, a 1997 batch IAS officer, as the new executive director.

J Syamala Rao is an experienced administrator working in multiple government departments including health, urban development, municipal administration, food and consumer affairs. He was the district collector of Visakhapatnam and is currently the principal secretary of a higher department.

This transition comes at a time when the previous government’s approach to TTD is being questioned. There is speculation that the new government may launch an investigation into the alleged irregularities.

The Chandrababu Naidu-led government has indicated that it may probe many appointments made by the previous government under the TTD in the last five years, which may have contributed to corruption and maladministration.

Dharma Reddy, CEO for two years:

Following the transfer of then EO Jawahar Reddy, the government has entrusted additional EO responsibilities to Dharma Reddy, who was additional EO in May 2022. Dharma Reddy was sent on leave on June 11 and has now been completely relieved of his duties.
