Microsoft recently joined the ranks of technology giants, releasing new devices to the market in the fall. The company presented a range of products perfect for the upcoming holiday shopping season. The new products include Surface Studio 2, Surface Pro 6, Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Headphones.

Surface Studio 2 is the latest version of Microsoft’s desktop PC, designed for creative professionals. It offers improved graphics performance and is considered the fastest Surface device ever made. Surface Studio 2 with a 28-inch display and USB-C support is available for pre-order starting at $3,499.

Microsoft’s first pair of smart headphones, Surface Headphones, offers adjustable noise cancellation and auto-pause and play features. The headphones are equipped with Microsoft’s Cortana voice assistant, so users can control their devices hands-free. Priced at $349, the Surface headphones will be available later this year.

Surface Pro 6 is the next exciting release and is said to be 67% faster than its predecessor while maintaining the same battery life of up to 13.5 hours. It offers versatility with the ability to easily switch between laptop, studio and tablet modes. Surface Pro 6 will be available starting at $899 in black and platinum.

The Surface Laptop 2, which starts at $999, is an improvement on its predecessor, offering faster, quieter typing and up to 14.5 hours of battery life. It’s 85% faster than the previous model, and now comes in a sleek black color, in addition to the existing burgundy, platinum and blue options.

Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s vice president of Modern Life and Devices, emphasized that these devices are designed to seamlessly integrate into both work and personal life. The company also rolled out its latest software for Windows, the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, focusing on productivity features such as the Your Phone app, which allows users to access texts and photos from their Android phone on their PC.

Analyst Andrew Hewitt from Forrester emphasized that the target audience for these new Microsoft devices is business professionals in enterprises. He noted that Microsoft has invested heavily in productivity features such as Timeline and Focus Assistant, designed to increase productivity and reduce user distractions.

While Microsoft is making progress in competing with Apple on the creative front, particularly with new photo and video editing capabilities, the company remains focused on making employees more productive in everyday tasks. The goal of these innovative new releases is to provide users with tools that integrate seamlessly into their lives, both at work and at home.
