Amazon customers praise ‘brilliant’ garden gadget that provides ‘fun for the whole family’

Amazon has reduced the price of an “amazing” garden gadget that provides hours of entertainment by giving users the chance to connect with nature.

The Netvue Birdfy Bird Feeding Camera is currently £68 off, bringing the price down from £199.99 to £131.99 for a limited time deal. Easily installed without wires and easily filled thanks to its removable roof, this special bird feeder is equipped with a built-in camera and motion sensor that transmits live images directly to your phone, so you can see your garden visitors up close in real time.

Birdfy automatically records videos of birds and notifies you of their visit via the app, offering features like night vision and two-way audio to listen to birdsong or deter unwanted visitors. Through the app you can share videos with friends and family and take photos from the clips, making it a must-have garden addition that has received rave reviews from families and nature lovers alike.

One buyer raved in a five-star review: “Great product in every respect. Very easy to set up and repair thanks to the various accessories it comes with. The image could be clearer, but it does its job. My son and I get a lot of joy out of it and it’s good to get him interested in wildlife at a young age.”

Another enthused: “A great way to get closer to nature. I love the short video clips available in the app that you can save and edit or take photos from. Easy to configure and use. You get notifications when motion is detected, which is quite a distraction! I cannot emphasize how amazing it is to see our little feathered garden friends up close. I would highly recommend!

A third reviewer said: “My husband bought this bird feeder as a Christmas gift and I love it. Watching the birds feed was always special; seeing them up close on your phone using your camera is something special. Receive notifications so you never miss a bird feed. If you love birds, this is the feeder for you. Definitely five stars from me.

And someone else wrote: “What a great addition to our garden! The birds love it and so does my family. Easy to assemble, remember to fully charge the camera before installing it in your garden. You can share the camera with friends and family you have access to it. Very clear photos, you can also record videos. You can configure the app to receive notifications of every move. I would highly recommend!”

While the bird feeder has so far earned an overall rating of 4.6 out of five stars based on 100 Amazon customer reviews, one person complained that notifications from her app were “inconsistent” and several people were disappointed that the solar panel for the camera is sold separately. Still, 79% of customers gave it the full five stars, and another 9% gave it four stars.

Amazon’s current deal on Netvue Birdfy makes it significantly cheaper than rival brand Bird Buddy, which costs £299.99 at John Lewis – and in fact, Birdfy beat out Bird Buddy to the top spot in the company’s review of the company’s best bird feeder TechRadar. However, if you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option to start your birdwatching adventure, Amazon is also currently offering the Bozily Smart Bird Feeder Camera for £59.49 on Lightning, although it’s only received about a dozen reviews from buyers, so it’s a long way off.
