Collection device found at Eunice Dollar Tree

EUNICE, La. — On Saturday, Dollar Tree employees in Eunice discovered a skimming device.

According to the Eunice Police Department (EPD), on June 15, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., Dollar Tree employees notified officers that a skimming device had been located in one of their registers.

The device was found in register 3. Eunice police say store employees have no idea how long the device had been there.

EPD plans to review security camera footage from the store as soon as it becomes available.

If you recently visited Dollar Tree and used a debit or credit card, police are asking you to check your statements for any suspicious transactions you did not authorize.

Officials also warn that the devices may have been placed in other stores and not detected by store employees.
