Gujarat: Gujarat recognized by MNRE as India’s leader in wind installations | Vadodara News

Vadodara: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India has recognized Gujarat as a national leader in wind power installations. On the occasion of World Wind Day, observed annually on June 15, MNRE conferred the award which was received by Mamta Verma, Principal Secretary, Department of Energy and Petrochemicals, and Jai Prakash Shivahare, Managing Director, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), New York, Delhi. “Gujarat has emerged as the number one state with an installed wind power capacity of 11,823 MW as of May 2024.” – we read in a statement issued by GUVNL. “Gujarat’s leadership in the wind energy sector is attributed to the state government’s targeted policy interventions, proactive measures and an investment-friendly environment,” it said.
