The temperature has reached 44 degrees and such long interruptions in work are unbearable as inverters and electrical equipment also heat up due to prolonged use,” said Pankaj Singh, a resident of Sector 49. Praveen Singh of Sector 31 stated that in Block C sector from around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, and frequent breakdowns are the norm in this sector. “During personal meetings with the SDO of Sector 39 substation, we were assured of better supply. However, this has not been implemented,” Singh said. Singh said he had raised the issue with FONRWA president Yogendra Sharma seeking urgent redress and also demanded a visit from the chief engineer of PVVNL, Noida zone, on the same issue. Meanwhile, an official from the power department said, “Due to the scorching heat, people are running multiple air conditioners in their houses at the same time. Other equipment is also used such as inverters, washing machines, etc. This has led to overload in some areas, which has resulted in equipment snagging. These are repaired daily as per complaints.”
