Shopline joins the team following its UK debut in 2023

Shopline, the giant Asian merchant services platform for online sales, has expanded its team in the UK. The company said this is “the next phase of its global expansion” and the latest hire “further strengthens the company’s commitment to serving the region (as) the company continues its rapid growth across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.”

James Cowie has been appointed chief architect and Jas Sandhu is responsible for professional services. We were told that “both roles will be key to the company to ensure Shopline continues to deliver on its promise of technical excellence while providing first-class customer service and consultation.”

Cowie will focus on growing the company’s technology stack, which will include “working with agencies and vendors to design architectural needs for their business problems to determine what the platform offers, when external services are needed, or where custom code solutions are required.” .

With over 20 years of experience in the e-commerce industry, he previously worked at Magento Commerce, working with some of the UK’s largest retailers and leading the way in product offerings.

Sandhu will focus on “customer satisfaction, success and growth.” He will work to improve the overall customer experience and increase customer engagement and retention.

With over 20 years of e-commerce experience, he has worked in various retail segments including fashion, apparel, accessories and home goods.

Founded in 2013, Shopline says it “empowers retailers to elevate their commerce by helping them sell, promote and run their business. The feature-rich commerce platform offers retailers greater functionality, lightning-fast site speeds and a unified commerce solution to help them grow.”

The number of merchants using the service surpassed 500,000 in 2022, and the company launched in the UK in April 2023 and has since grown its team to 30 employees. It also appeared in the US and Australia last year.
