Business leader in Northern Ireland

Initial growth led to the opening of a specialist carpentry workshop in 2006, which has since grown into a self-contained production space adjacent to Marcon’s headquarters in Antrim. A second office opened in Leeds in 2021 to support the growing business in England and Scotland.

Over the last 20 years, Marcon has gone from strength to strength and established itself in the retail, hospitality, cultural heritage and entertainment sectors. The impressive client list includes local businesses and global brands such as Titanic Belfast, Hinch Distillery, Guinness Storehouse, JD Wetherspoons, Luton Airport, Historic Royal Palaces and North Face. The company has also completed over 600 projects for the global fast food giant, McDonald’s.

Mark O’Connor, director of Marcon Fit-Out, said: “Marcon started in 2004 with five employees and today we employ over 75 people and support hundreds of indirect jobs through our network of subcontractors and supply chain across the UK and Ireland. Over the past three years, we have added 20 people to our skilled staff to support Marcon’s continued growth. We are proud to work with national companies as well as some of the biggest brands in the world. We initially started out as an interior contractor and have continued to expand our services to offer clients a complete turnkey package to help realize their vision.

We have faced many challenges over the past twenty years, both as a company and as an industry, but we have incredibly talented and experienced teams that allow us to grow, transform and continue to lead. We delight in working with our forward-thinking clients and enjoy watching their incredible growth. Each of them has played a key role in our success to date and we thank them for their continued support.

Mark McElroy, director of Marcon Fit-Out added: “We are delighted to celebrate our 20th anniversary.vol year of operation and we are confident that we are well prepared for further success and that we have exciting plans. While we are well known for the work we do in the retail, heritage and leisure sectors, we see the hospitality and tourism industry as a key growth area for us and we look forward to building on the great work we do for our existing clients and growing our base customers in this area in the coming months and years.”
