Budget, policies and programs take into account public sentiment: Prime Minister Dahal

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that the government’s policies and programs for the new financial year are in the interest of the people and Nepal.

Talking to the media at the Bharatpur airport today, the Prime Minister said that overall the budget was satisfactory. “I hope it will be swiftly approved by the House of Representatives.”

The Prime Minister said the budget highlighted several government initiatives for good governance, social justice and prosperity. “I believe more initiatives are needed to meet citizens’ aspirations.”

When asked about the possibility of changing the Inspector General of Police, he replied that nothing like that would happen. “It’s just a rumor,” he said, adding that he had recently summoned security chiefs and urged them to work with confidence.
