WhatsApp releases a new update for Android, now offering media quality options in Settings

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update for Android users, which is an important update that many people will probably find useful as well. The messaging app now allows you to set the default media quality in the settings, which would be a big relief for those who need to exchange images to work on WhatsApp and have to choose the HD mode for them.

The latest update, which was previously only available to beta testers, is now being rolled out to the stable version of the app. Thanks to this, everyone will have access to it. With this update, you don’t have to choose HD mode for videos and photos when sharing them with anyone on WhatsApp. You can simply set the HD quality in the Media streaming quality option, which is visible in the Settings > Storage & data section.

This feature is set to standard quality by default, so you will need to select HD in the settings to be able to share higher quality media by default.
