Optyk Online – Visufarma achieves zero carbon dioxide emissions and plastic neutrality

Ophthalmic pharmaceutical company Visufarma has partnered with crowd-sourced fintech Plastic Bank to prevent 17,215 kilograms of plastic from entering the ocean by using plastic waste as currency.

As part of the social recycling movement, which also reduces poverty, ocean managers are enabling local entrepreneurs to set up collection units, exchanging plastic for benefits and income.

Visufarma also offset all CO₂ emissions through the UK Woodland Fund’s portfolio of verified carbon offset projects across the world.

“Visufarma understands that building a strong UK healthcare industry can only be achieved by caring for the local and global environment, for which we all have a collective responsibility.

“We are proud to have achieved plastic neutrality and zero greenhouse gas status in the UK and are committed to maintaining these milestones as part of our core values for a sustainable future,” said Mike Armistead, Visufarma UK CEO and return on investment .
