Finma claims that HSBC Private Bank Suisse violated money laundering regulations

Finma announced on Tuesday that HSBC Private Bank Suisse had breached its anti-money laundering obligations.

The regulator also ordered action to restore compliance with the law and blocked the bank from doing business with new politically exposed persons until an inspection was carried out.

The decision has not yet entered into force and HSBC plans to appeal.
