Powering Up SNEC 2024: Shanghai Electric forges alliances with key industry players, showcases innovations in solar energy, energy storage and hydrogen

SHANGHAI, June 18, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Shanghai Electric (SEHK:2727, SSE:601727) took center stage at SNEC PV Power Expo 2024, where it showcased the latest developments in photovoltaic, energy storage and hydrogen solutions. The three-day event began on June 13^vol we also saw two of Shanghai Electric’s subsidiaries – Heency Solar and Shanghai Electric Gotion – sign strategic cooperation agreements and obtain orders from 14 key industry players, including PRANA, Tmall Energy BV and NSR GmbH, thanks to which the company intends to accelerate the implementation of the technology cuts promote renewable energy technologies and support the global transition to a sustainable future.

Hybrid systems stood out as promising new energy solutions and became the new favorite of Shanghai Electric’s strategic partners. At the fair, Hency Solar partnered with China Energy Construction Group Jiangsu Power Design Institute and Jiangsu Pengzhi Power to develop 400MW and 150MW renewable projects integrated with wind power, solar energy and aquaculture, building innovative, eco-friendly energy infrastructure that will stimulate economic growth while reducing the carbon footprint.

“Under the banner”Smart sun, green future“, Shanghai Electric Power Station Group highlighted a series of innovations, demonstrating its technological breakthroughs in solar power, solar thermal power, multi-energy storage, hydrogen energy and distributed energy management aimed at decarbonization.

The products that were a hit during the event were:

• Solar solutions from the “Intellectual” and “Edgeless” series.: “Intellectual” series smart solar modules are integrated with power electronic devices that offer MPPT power optimization, monitoring, emergency shutdown and voltage control, ensuring greater safety, reliability, real-time optimization and improved maintenance. The “Edgeless” series has a unique design that enables 360-degree self-cleaning of dust and snow, assisted by gravity and rainfall. TÜV SÜD certified construction ensures: 2%–6% increase in annual electricity production, much higher than that of market counterparts.
• Shanghai Electric Gotion innovations in energy storage: showcasing the latest solutions Liquid-cooled system for commercial and industrial applications with a power of 215 kWh AND Liquid-cooled system with a capacity of 5 MWh, lithium-ion from the “Elite Cool” series, which includes 314Ah battery cells with advanced fire protection mechanisms to optimize investment efficiency, space occupancy and safety. UNIQUE-ONE system (U200).Designed to operate both on- and off-grid, it features a single-row design that is more compact than conventional double-row products.
• New “Z” series alkaline electrolyzer and test platform.: This system is TÜV Rheinland certified and has achieved significant performance increases with current densities exceeding 10,000 A/m² and minimum DC energy consumption of 3.8 kWh/Nm³ H₂. To meet a variety of product testing requirements, the platform was designed with the ability to test key materials and components of the electrolyzer core, pilot testing and full-scale testing, with the ability to achieve a torque of 2000 Nm³/h for alkaline electrolysers and 300Nm³/h for electrolyzers with proton exchange membrane.
