Italian designer Poltrona Frau is entering luxury car interiors with her takeover of KJ Ryan

Iconic Italian design brand Poltrona Frau recently acquired a majority stake in British company KJ Ryan. The move is aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the British luxury car market. The merger will create a European pole specializing in the production of high-class, tailor-made car interiors.

Poltrona Frauhistoric Italian design brand and subsidiary Haworth Lifestyle Groupacquired a majority stake in the British company KJ Ryan Friday, June 14.

This acquisition is Poltrona Frau’s first international operation in its industry 112 years of historyand aims to strengthen its presence in the British luxury car market.

Founded in 2007 by Kevin Ryan in Coventry KJ Ryan, a car upholstery specialist, employs over 150 skilled craftsmen and has established strong relationships with several British luxury car manufacturers. Kevin Ryan will continue to play an important operational role in the new entity.

Merger of KJ Ryan and Poltrona Frau’s Interiors in Motion divisionbased in Tolentino, Italy, will result in the creation of a European pole specializing in the production of high-class, tailor-made car interiors.

The new entity will generate sales of approx 120 million euros and employ approximately 600 people in three production plants in Tolentino and Montegranaro in Italy and Coventry in the UK.

The sector is in good shape

This operation is part of Haworth Lifestyle’s development strategy, which aims to achieve sales billion euros over the next few years, both through organic development of its brands and through acquisitions.
