Plugable is launching a pilot in the UK

Community-led technology platform Plugable is launching its first pilot program to provide electric vehicle chargers in the North West.

A company using the UK’s network of private electric vehicle chargers is launching a pilot program on June 19, following a successful launch in Ireland.

It aims to make EV charging more reliable and affordable for EV drivers without private home chargers.

Connectivity allows EV drivers to reserve affordable and reliable charging spots at local hosts’ homes or destination chargers at private companies.

The company aims to leverage the estimated 700,000 private charging points across the country that remain largely unutilized.

Maebh Reynolds, founder and CEO of Plugable, said:

“Our peer-to-peer network comes to the UK to enable hosts to make the most of their home chargers, generate passive income and support the wider electric vehicle community.

“By democratizing access to EV charging, we want to accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.”
