One UI 6.1.1 may bring the AI drawing feature to Samsung devices equipped with the S Pen stylus

Samsung has introduced several AI-based features in the Galaxy S24 series. Some of these features were then made available to older high-end phones with the One UI 6.1 update. It is now reported that Samsung will introduce an artificial intelligence-based drawing assist feature on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

This feature may be available on several older Galaxy phones and tablets with the One UI 6.1.1 update.

One UI 6.1.1 can bring AI drawing to Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Z Fold devices using the S Pen

According to reliable insider Ice Universe, One UI 6.1.1 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come with the AI Graffiti feature. While the insider didn’t go into detail about the feature, it could help users draw better with the S Pen and generate images based on user input via text prompts. This feature will reportedly be made available to older Galaxy devices equipped with the S Pen with the One UI 6.1.1 update.

Since only high-end Galaxy phones and tablets, especially the Galaxy S, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Z series, come with Galaxy AI features, we expect the AI-powered drawing feature with One UI 6.1.1 to be made available on the Galaxy Tab S8 , Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.

Some devices like the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 may get this feature with the One UI 7.0 update (since regular phones usually don’t receive the One UI xx1 update). However, nothing can be said for sure until Samsung releases official information about it.

Apple introduced a similar feature with the iPadOS 18 update. Apple’s Image Wand feature uses pre-drawings and artificial intelligence to make them look better and more finished. It can also create images using text and context from nearby areas in Freeform and Notes applications.

The story continues after the video below.

Author’s note: While the Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy S22 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S7, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 are eligible to receive the One UI 6.1.1 and One UI 7.0 updates, we can’t say for sure whether this AI-powered drawing feature will be available released for these models because their older processors and NPUs are not as powerful as those used in phones released in the last few years.

However, we cannot rule out that these phones and tablets will receive AI-based drawing and image generation capabilities, and only Samsung can determine which devices will receive them. Expect more information on this to be revealed in late July or August 2024.
