Actis introduces Orygen and appoints new CEO after acquisition of Enel Generación Perú

Orygen begins operations with a diversified power generation capacity of 2.2 GW, including the largest renewable energy portfolio in Peru. The company’s goal is to expand this leading offer of renewable energy sources with a portfolio of development projects with a capacity of 12 GW. Currently, Orygen’s assets include four energy generation technologies: solar, wind, hydroelectric and gas thermal.

Marco Fragale has been appointed CEO of Orygen. Fragale, an experienced energy executive, has held multiple positions at Enel in Latin America, including in Peru. He obtained a degree in mechanical engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, a master’s degree in engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology and an MBA from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan. With 25 years of experience, Fragale has played a key role in advancing the energy transition.

This inauguration follows Actis’s acquisition last month of 92.35% of the shares in Enel Generación Perú SAA and 100% of the shares in Compania Energetica Veracruz.
