Apple provides the Final Cut Camera app with manual video controls

Apple launched Final Cut Camera App for iPhones, announced on May 7 at the Apple iPad event. This free app is now available for download in the Apple App Store. Users can also update Final Cut Pro editing software on Mac and iPad to access the new Live Multicam feature.

The role of the Final Cut camera for iPhone

Final Cut Camera improves quality Appleecosystem by integrating advanced features such as Live Multicam. This feature allows users to connect and view up to four cameras simultaneously on one screen, providing a director’s view from all angles simultaneously.

As a standalone app for iPad and iPhone, Final Cut Camera dramatically increases camera performance by introducing manual controls. Users can now manually adjust white balance, focus, shutter speed and ISO sensitivity. This is the first time Apple offers such extensive manual controls directly in the camera app. Early tests show that these handheld controls work as expected, offering users greater flexibility and precision.

Do we need manual video control?

For creators who use iPhones as professional video tools, manual controls are crucial. The Final Cut Camera app provides these controls, enhancing your iPhone’s capabilities at no additional cost.

Additionally, the app simplifies a common problem with the default camera app: having to go to the Settings app to change codecs and color settings. With Final Cut Camera, users can choose between Apple ProRes and HEVC directly in the app and quickly adjust frame rate and resolution using the top controls.

Overall, the Final Cut Camera app is a valuable addition for iPhone users, offering professional video control and seamless integration with the broader Apple ecosystem.
