The value of reference agency assessment reports in ensuring confidence in regulation

Access to information, including NRA reference assessment documents, is a key enabler of regulatory risk-based decision-making. It promotes understanding of what has been reviewed by the reference national regulatory authority, provides justification for decision-making and promotes certainty and trust.

The Center for Innovation in Regulatory Reliance (CIRS) has published a briefing on CIRS research and development that describes aims to better understand the delivery of regulatory review documents and reports – what types of documents are required, how often, and how they are used to make risk-based decisions (e.g., reliance).
