Deep Wind Offshore secures land for an offshore investment in Estonia

HAUGESUND, Norway — Deep Wind Offshore received rights to the Saare 2.1 offshore wind energy development area in the Baltic Sea in Estonia.

The 164 km2 area is located at depths ranging from 29 m to 66 m. The location is near the island of Saaremaa, where wind conditions favor efficient energy production.

CEO Knut Vassbotn said: “Deep Wind Offshore maintains its commitment to develop offshore wind capacity of over 10 GW within 10 years… This award will make Estonia a key market.”
