Tripartite Youth Empowerment Initiative.

On May 30 and 31, UNICEF, in collaboration with the Government of Angola, private sector partners, international cooperation and leaders of youth civil society organizations, launched the State of Youth Study and analyzed the action plan of the Unlimited Generation initiative, a strategic initiative included in the National Development Program 2023 -2027 and the Multi-Term Strategy 2050.

Discussions focused on key issues of youth education and employability, and the search for innovative solutions to ensure a better future for young Angolans.

Over the two days, discussions focused on the State of Youth in Angola survey, conducted by UNICEF to understand the challenges facing young people in the country, as well as to assess current initiatives related to the transition from education to the labor market. The focus was on assessing the programs, partnerships and activities proposed in the study, taking into account their potential impact, economic feasibility and compliance with public policies.

The sessions were also accompanied by detailed discussions on the potential for impact and possibilities of cooperation between various sectors. There were detailed presentations of the study results, panels with experts who discussed public policies and strategies for their implementation, as well as interactive sessions enabling the exchange of ideas and best practices.

The workshops provided a valuable platform for leaders of civil society youth organizations to share their perspectives and experiences in promoting young people’s employability. Despite the significant challenges they face, these organizations have shown tireless determination in working to ensure a better future for young people in Angola.
