J&K Govt’s New Mandatory Rules for Filling Critical Posts!

JAMMU, June 21: In view of the recent incident, Govt Jammu and Kashmir issued a directive to streamline the recruitment process for key positions in various departments. The directive, stemming from concerns about delayed compliance with recruitment rules, highlights the importance of finalizing formal recruitment procedures.
In line with the new guidelines set out in Government Order No. 635-JK(GAD) dated February 16, 2024, departments are instructed to avoid changing recruitment policies through executive orders, except for critical positions for which there is no formal recruitment method or where urgent filling is required. Departments wishing to issue executive orders must first obtain approval from the Department of Administrative Reform, Inspection and Training (ARI and Training) and the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Additionally, the committee established by Government Order No. 985-JK(GAD), dated April 29, 2024, will supervise the review and finalization of these orders within one month of receipt of the complete proposals. These orders will last for a period of six months, during which time departments will have to submit formal recruitment proposals to ensure government deadlines are met.
