Pre-Budget Meet: Rajasthan Dy CM seeks Center’s support for railway, road and power sectors

Jaipur, June 22 (SocialNews.XYZ) Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari sought support from the Center for railway, road and power projects in the state during a pre-budget consultative meeting held in the national capital on Saturday.

The consultative meeting was chaired by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in connection with the upcoming Union Budget 2024-25.

Deputy CM Diya Kumari called for early resolution of the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP). She also presented a proposal to further strengthen the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and sought support from the Center for the project.

The deputy minister presented the case of three large, pending railway projects for the state that would provide connectivity to remote areas. Besides, it sought the construction of national roads in the state to strengthen ground transportation.

She said it was important for the state to have a network of roads connecting remote and remote villages.

Diya Kumari further stated that Rajasthan requires adequate energy development due to the development of agriculture, industry and infrastructure.

The Centre’s intervention is necessary to make the state self-reliant in the energy arena, she told the Union Finance Minister, urging him to provide special assistance to power utilities in the state so that their potential can be fully utilised.

The Union Finance Minister assured that all demands from Rajasthan would be considered positively in terms of facilities, the deputy prime minister’s office said in a statement.
