Tajikistan plans to use Kazakhstan’s experience in renewable energy projects

Tajikistan plans to use Kazakhstan’s experience in renewable energy projects, Azernews reports.

This was mentioned by the Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Sharifa Khudobakhsh, during the second meeting of the Standing Committee on Cooperation of the Parliaments of Tajikistan and Kazakhstan.

“We will use the rich experience of Kazakhstan and neighboring countries in the construction of solar and wind power plants. In this regard, Tajikistan is expanding cooperation with countries in the region in the implementation of “green” energy projects, said the deputy minister.

Khudobakhsh also noted that Kazakhstan is one of Tajikistan’s reliable partners in the export of liquefied gas.

According to President Emomali Rahmon, it is planned to transform Tajikistan into a “green country” by 2037. Currently, over 98 percent Tajikistan’s electricity comes from hydroelectric resources.

From April 2024, the use of solar panels will be mandatory in the construction and renovation of buildings in Tajikistan.
