Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stressed on the need for the Constituent Assembly to hold constructive debates on a number of pressing issues such as development of the capital Amaravati and construction of Polavaram project, which was highlighted during the five years of YSR Congress The party’s (YSRCP) rule has put the state on a crossroads.

The reputation of the Assembly during the previous dispensation was destroyed as members were insulted and even personally attacked, and healthy debates were few and far between, Mr. Naidu said in his post-chapter speech. “The election of Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu as Speaker comes at this critical juncture. With his kind nature and vast experience, I am sure he will provide the leadership required for the state to recover,” Mr. Naidu said.

Mr. Naidu said that Andhra Pradesh has just got back on its feet after the TDP-JSP-BJP alliance ended the destructive rule of YSRCP. At this stage, the Assembly should give proper shape to the government’s policy by taking into account the views of all members, irrespective of their party, he said, while making it clear that he was against downplaying the YSRCP as already portrayed by the public. the punishment she deserved in the just ended elections.

The Assembly should not be a place where MPs were harassed and humiliated because the purpose of sending them to the august House was to solve citizens’ problems. “It must facilitate the achievement of the government’s goals,” he assured.

Mr. Naidu said that Mr. Patrudu was once a seven-time MLA and Member of Parliament and has been in politics for 42 years since he joined TDP in 1982. He recalled that Mr. Patrudu worked in the NT Rama Rao government and was a minister for 16 years . As Mr. Naidu pointed out, when it came to loyalty to the TDP, there was no other leader comparable to him.

“Mr. Patrudu had 23 criminal cases filed against him during the YSRCP regime, but he remained as brave as ever in his fight against injustice. It is a matter of pride to have him among us as Speaker today,” added Mr. Naidu.
