M-6 Motorway: Matiari – Pakistan land acquisition problem resolved

HYDERABAD: A series of meetings between DC Matiari office and NHA have resolved issues related to land acquisition for construction of M-6 highway from Hyderabad to Sukkur. The problems of landmarks and route ambiguity in Taluka Matiari have almost been resolved.

Matiari Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Yousif Shaikh, who gave priority to the project after assuming office in April, said the Matiari taluka land was ready for acquisition and the documentation for handover and takeover should be prepared jointly by the land acquisition collector and the NHA.

DC Matiari, Deputy Commissioner Matiari, NHA team and village staff conducted a meeting followed by a joint site visit.

The survey team is scheduled to visit Taluka Hala and Saeedabad on June 24 to properly mark the remaining survey numbers.

The Deputy Commissioner also managed the documentation of all compensation and compensation inventories. Work on the construction of the road is scheduled to begin soon.

Chief Secretary Sindh chaired a meeting on June 13, giving stringent directions for expediting and completing land acquisition work, highlighting land ownership to NHA under priority rights and improving coordination of NHA activities at the district level.
