Cadeler wins contract to install wind turbines in Scotland

Cadeler, a Danish offshore wind installation company, has signed a binding contract to install 72 15 MW Vestas offshore wind turbines at the Inch Cape offshore wind farm.

The contract value is expected to be in the range of EUR 114-130 million ($122-139 million), with assembly scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Located 15 kilometers off the east coast of Scotland in the North Sea, the Inch Cape offshore wind farm will generate enough energy to power the equivalent of around 1.6 million households in the UK. To successfully complete this project, Cadeler will use one of two newly built M-class installation vessels. The total project duration is estimated at approximately 249 days.

The wind farm is owned by Inch Cape Offshore Limited, an equal joint venture between Edinburgh-based renewable and sustainable energy company Red Rock Power and Irish energy company ESB.

“With the recent renewal and continued expansion of our offshore wind jack-up vessel fleet – the largest in the industry – Cadeler is ready to meet rapidly growing and dynamic market demand,” said Mikkel Gleerup, Cadeler CEO.
