Security concerns were raised after an incident at the historic Ellora Caves, where a large group of visitors performed puja and played musical instruments in violation of local regulations. The event took place early Sunday morning and sparked calls for increased security and enforcement.

A group of village visitors who had earlier visited the Grishneshwar temple arrived at Ellora Caves around 7:30 am. Unaware of the rules, they started performing puja and playing musical instruments in the caves. Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) officials described the incident as a one-off incident and said that after informing security personnel, the guests were asked to disperse immediately.

Known for its historical and cultural significance, this place is visited by large numbers of tourists, especially on Sundays. A local businessman reported the incident to ASI staff after a foreign tourist alerted it about the group’s activities. The security guards quickly intervened and resolved the matter amicably.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ellora Caves require rigorous protection to maintain their historical integrity. This incident highlighted the need for vigilant enforcement and robust security measures to prevent repeat violations.
