Progress in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector amid war challenges

In Ukraine, more than 30 projects to launch new wind energy are currently under development, at various stages of readiness. This was mentioned by the acting director of the State Buyer Guaranteed Enterprise, Artem Nekrasov, during a United News telethon.

“Currently, over 30 projects to launch new wind energy are being developed in Ukraine (at various stages of readiness). They include Ukrainian and Turkish companies and German investors.

As far as I know, the estimated launch date for (some of them) is around 2025 and 2027.” – he noticed.

According to him, most of these projects were initiated before the war began. “But despite the state of war, new projects are emerging,” Nekrasov said.

The Acting Director of the Guaranteed Buyer mentioned that over the last 2 years, companies have been actively installing solar power plants for their needs.

“Due to the situation in the energy sector, Ukrainian companies began to invest in their own installations using renewable energy sources. We see, for example, projects of retail chains such as “Silpo”, “Epicenter”, “Novus”, which have already installed solar panels on the roofs of their supermarkets and so on,” he emphasized.

Answering the question of how international partners are currently supporting Ukraine in initiatives to provide infrastructure for solar energy production, Nekrasov assured that partners are consistently helping Ukraine.
