The Fourth of July is next week and patriotic fireworks will be available for purchase beginning Thursday, June 27 and concluding on July 5.

For any fireworks violations, please call 1-785-826-7210. Remember, in emergencies requiring immediate response from the Police, Fire, or EMS, dial 911.

Saline County (Assaria, Gypsum, Brookville & New Cambria follow the County regulations):

Dates of Sale – June 27th through July 5 from 8 am to 10 pm

Dates of Discharge – June 27 through July 5 from 8 am to midnight

City of Salina:

Dates of Sale – June 27 through July 4 from 8 am to 10 pm

Dates of Discharge – only on July 3 & 4 from 8 am to 11 pm

**City of Smolan**:

July 1 – 3 discharges from 8 am to 10 pm

July 4 discharge from 8 am to midnight

Regulations (same for both City and County):

⦁ When using approve consumer fireworks, a person shall not ignite or discharge fireworks:

⦁ On public property (no parks, roadways, road shoulders, etc.

⦁ On private property without the express written consent of the property owner, including the property owner’s name, address, telephone number and signature

⦁ Under, or from a car or vehicle, whether moving or standing still, or on a public roadway or the right-of-way adjoining a public roadway

⦁ Within 100 feet of any hospital, sanitarium, infirmary, nursing home, or assisted living facility

⦁ Within 300 feet of any consumer fireworks facility

⦁For throwing, cast, or propelling the fireworks they can’t be aimed in the direction of or into the path of any person or group of persons, whether on foot, on a bicycle, on a motorcycle, or in a vehicle;

⦁ Sky Lanterns are banned in all of Saline County
