RealityScan 1.5 allows you to download 3D models to mobile devices

Epic Games and the Capturing Reality team have officially released RealityScan 1.5, an enhanced version of their free photogrammetry app for Apple and Android devices, introducing a range of new features designed to make your workflows more efficient and convenient.

The highlight of this release is the new RealityScan feature, which allows users to easily download processed 3D models directly to their devices for local storage or sharing. On iOS devices, downloads are available in the OBJ format, while on Android devices they are available in the GLB format. Please note that designs created in previous versions of the application will need to be reprocessed before they can be visualized and downloaded in version 1.5.

What’s more, with this update, trimming now happens on your device rather than on the server, making it almost instantaneous. You can now also crop your models using a cylindrical volume, perfect for round objects such as vases and tables.

Moreover, the improved version of RealityScan includes a redesigned project list that boasts a fresh new look that is not only more visually appealing, but also more functional, allowing you to check the size of each project and apply filters for easier navigation.
