Is travel retail one of the wine industry’s largest untapped markets?

As the travel industry recovers, important transformations are reshaping the sector. Help your wine take off by entering the Wine Travel Retail Masters competition before July 29.

Travel Retail was one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Four years later, the industry appears to have bounced back, although not without changes.

“Travellers are returning, but purchasing patterns are evolving,” warned Erik Juul-Mortensen, CEO of TFWA in September 2023. In a world dominated by personalized marketing, he calls for the travel retail industry to shift from a one-size-fits-all model.

This is the strategy that leading French wine brand Paul Mas recently adopted when it announced the launch of its exclusive Travel Retail range at the recent TFWA Asia Pacific exhibition in Singapore.

“We want to provide travelers with an unrivaled wine experience that captures the essence of French luxury and rural charm,” commented Asia Export Manager, Kévin Florès.

Travel Retail is a fantastic opportunity to present your brand around the world and connect with customers who often want to bring back a souvenir from their travels.

Any wine sold or ready for sale in tourist retail outlets can participate in the competition. They can be produced anywhere in the world. Entries are open for the next five weeks and the results will be published in the September issue of the drinks industry magazine and online, putting your wine in front of thousands of professionals and consumers.
