Recheck, the verification platform for the residential solar industry, has launched an industry registry in partnership with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and leading solar financing, contractor and technology partners. The first platform of its kind, Recheck provides an industry-wide registry of residential solar module sellers and installers, ensuring the highest standards of customer service for families across the country transitioning to affordable, clean energy alternatives. Before Recheck, there was no national system for tracking and enforcing standards of conduct among solar retailers.

Recheck’s founders, including leading U.S. residential solar financing companies such as Dividend Finance, Freedom Forever, GoodLeap, Mosaic, Palmetto, Sungage Financial, Sunlight Financial and Sunrun, are ensuring rapid adoption of the platform. The centerpiece of the Recheck tool is the Recheck ID, a unique ID-verified identification number that enables contractors, financiers and technology platforms to confirm compliance with certification, licensing and training requirements, ensuring a superior customer experience. This identifier, combined with the upcoming SEIA standards, enables sales representatives and installers to achieve third-party certifications, distinguishing themselves through proven training and best practices. Recheck also facilitates data sharing across the industry, helping companies verify trading partners, prevent bad practices by unregistered sellers and identify consumer protection violators.

“This is an incredibly important partnership as SEIA works to ensure every solar installation in the United States is safe, reliable and meets customer expectations,” said SEIA President and CEO Abigail Ross Hopper. “Solar remains the most popular form of energy in America and will be installed in 10 million homes by 2030. It’s our job to make sure the solar and storage industry is accountable to the millions of families who trust us to power their lives. “

“A healthy solar industry is critical to consumers and the U.S. energy transition. Recheck is proud of its founding partners and is committed to building the tools to ensure long-term consumer trust,” added Tim Trefren, co-founder and CEO of Recheck.
