Yokogawa buys renewable energy management solutions provider BaxEnergy

Yokogawa Electric Corp. announced on June 5 that it had acquired BaxEnergy, which provides renewable energy management solutions (REMS). Thanks to this acquisition, Yokogawa will be able to offer technologies that have already been accepted by energy companies across Europe. It will make them available to energy asset owners around the world, supported by implementation consulting and after-sales services through its global network.

Founded in 2010, BaxEnergy claims to provide flexible, scalable REMS solutions that can be deployed without having to modify core IT and business systems. Its products can integrate the management of various renewable energy facilities and analyze data from turbines, inverters and other types of power generation equipment from various manufacturers to improve generation efficiency. According to reports, these solutions can increase installation availability by up to 10%. By integrating data management in a cloud environment, BAxthe solutions enable customers to view customized KPI information and alerts on all types of devices, including smartphones and tablets, giving them the information they need to quickly make decisions that will have a direct impact on revenue and capacity utilization .

“We are proud to now be part of the Yokogawa family,” says Simone Massaro, CEO of BaxEnergy. “Through this relationship, we will be able to operate globally and provide energy producers and process users with our intelligent expertise in data engineering and renewable energy management, delivered through our data infrastructure and application ecosystem.”

Koji Nakaoka, senior vice president and head of the company’s headquarters for energy and sustainability, said: “Yokogawa is contributing to a resilient and sustainable society by supporting safe and optimal operations in an increasingly diverse energy supply chain. We look forward to leveraging BaxEnergy’s unique strengths to generate synergies and achieve this goal.”
