aeSolutions announces new management appointments and company development structure

Appointments in management positions and new business units will improve the company’s customer service; Set the stage of expected growth

GREENVILLE, South Carolina, June 26, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–aeSolutions, an applied engineering solutions company that assesses industrial process risk and implements risk response plans through critical systems, today announced executive appointments and a new company development structure. Both the leadership appointments and the new structure are designed to ensure customer success and position the company for growth in customer services and offerings.

Executive nominations

  • Ken O’Malley, Chief Executive Officer (CEO): O’Malley founded aeSolutions with two partners in 1998 and most recently served as president of aeSolutions. He has proven to be a leader capable of transforming from a five-employee startup to a mid-sized consulting and engineering firm with multi-state locations delivering mission-critical projects for international Fortune 100 clients.

  • Joel Read, Chief Financial Officer (CFO): As aeSolutions’ first CFO and member of the leadership team, Read leverages his strong history of improving the company’s performance through periods of significant change. Read previously served as president of Executive Interim Management, LLC and as division chief financial officer, division controller and global headquarters business planner at IBM Global Services.

  • Chris Neff, Chief Operating Officer (COO): Neff has over 25 years of experience developing and executing complex projects to create value for clients in a variety of industries, including refining, chemicals, onshore and offshore oil and gas, LNG, syngas/methanol, utilities, infrastructure, energy, metals, mining, food and pharmaceuticals. Throughout his career, Neff has held numerous leadership positions, from chief measurement and control systems engineer at a large refinery to leading an operations team of over 600 employees at a global corporation. Prior to becoming COO, Neff served as senior vice president of project development and plant protection systems at aeSolutions.

  • David Ivester Chief Commercial Officer (CCO): Prior to joining aeSolutions in January 2024, Ivester accumulated over 30 years of experience in various sales and marketing leadership positions in the process automation space. During his previous tenure at Emerson, Ivester held positions ranging from sales representative to vice president of global accounts. In his most recent position at Emerson, his responsibilities included leading a team generating billions of dollars in revenue and managing investments in capital projects. His most recent role at aeSolutions was as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

  • Ken Whittle, vice president of solution development: Whittle’s 30-plus years of Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S)/Operations leadership include experience in mechanical integrity, maintenance excellence, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership coaching and mentoring. Additionally, he has held increasingly senior and increasingly complex roles at the corporate and business level in both large and small upstream and downstream petrochemical plants. Prior to his promotion to vice president of solutions development, Whittle served as senior director of process safety at aeSolutions.

New business units/divisions

To streamline and focus operations at aeSolutions, the company merged multiple business units into two: Solution Development and Solution Delivery, each with four organizational divisions focused on sales and service, our people, implementations and our projects.
