Apple ( NASDAQ:AAPL ) device repair is hitting Canada, and shareholders are rejoicing

The so-called “right to repair” has been a touchy proposition for some time now. Apple is no different (NASDAQ:AAPL), which many devices were not even accessible, let alone repaired, leaving customers with no choice but to replace the damaged device. Now in Canada they will also have the chance to have their Apple devices repaired. Following this news, shares jumped significantly, reaching almost 2.5% during Wednesday afternoon trading.

Under the new plan, Canadians will have access to a range of Apple tools, as well as user guides and other information to repair their own devices. This access is not yet possible and will not happen for several months. However, as reports note, the program will be available in 2025 and likely before the first half of the year. 42 different Apple products will be repairable under the program, ranging from MacBook Air devices to even iPhone 12 phones. Canada will be 34vol country, note reports to access the platform.

Retro PC Emulators Get Bootable

Retro gamers did well on Apple devices when game emulators were allowed on the App Store. However, retro-style PC emulators that could give Apple users a taste of old Windows or even DOS won’t get the same treatment. Apple also launched developers working on DOS emulators and x32 emulators. Reports noted that developers were fired because they were not working on “…retro game console emulators.” Never mind that PC emulators were likely used to play old PC games – many of which qualify as abandonware today – Apple stood firm on its defense and kept PC gamers away.
