Lucid Software’s product capabilities increase team productivity and innovation

For years, organizations have been actively looking for ways to improve hybrid work for all employees. While returning to the office on a hybrid schedule is now becoming more common, most employees, including 58% of executives, 55% of managers, and 43% of entry-level workers, consider balancing productivity to be their biggest challenge with hybrid work.

Because this is a top issue, Lucid Software’s Hybrid Workplace Whiplash Survey of more than 2,500 knowledge workers found that companies were trying to solve productivity challenges by expanding their technology stacks, with 45% of workers using five or more tools to complete tasks and gain knowledge of completed work. However, almost half (44%) of employees are not satisfied with the collaboration tools their company offers.

The study also sheds light on why employees are dissatisfied and the clear disconnect between the tools companies have in their tech stacks and the tools employees want. For example, only 22% of employees currently report using visual collaboration software, but 73% of employees believe that visualizations are important for effective collaboration.

For over a decade, Lucid has put visualization at the heart of collaboration, enabling teams, whether in-office, hybrid, or fully remote, to collaborate, stay consistent, and build diverse workflows. Lucid’s latest capabilities address many of the needs of employees who want to work more effectively and increase productivity in a hybrid environment.

Increase team cohesion with enhanced AI capabilities

AI has emerged as the foundation of modern business operations—75% of leaders in organizations whose teams use AI say it has improved their collaboration skills. When AI adoption became a top priority for businesses and teams, Lucid was ahead of the curve. For over a decade, Lucid has delivered an intelligent, comprehensive visual collaboration platform that empowers employees at every stage of a project. And with Lucid’s latest AI features and plugins, employees can get more done faster by generating new visualizations and summaries of their Lucid documents.

For example, Lucid’s collaborative AI will quickly suggest ideas and summarize content. Further leveraging the power of AI, teams can now use AI prompts in Lucidchart to automatically generate a flowchart, sequence diagram, class diagram, or entity relationship diagram. With these user-generated suggestions, users can also iterate and update each specific aspect of the AI-generated diagram until they get the exact visual effect they need.

For example, UX/UI teams can automatically generate a flowchart for unique customer service systems, personalizing prompts with specific steps and visual elements that the final product must include. This may include adding terms such as “assign a support ticket” or “escalate complex issues” to the prompt. Lucid’s diagram generation feature will automatically create a flowchart that includes these steps, saving your team valuable time getting started.

The introduction of the Microsoft Copilot plugin for Lucid also brings AI directly into teams’ workflows. This integration allows teams to download Lucid documents and create AI-generated summaries of them. For example, say a few team members are unable to join an important brainstorming session. In that case, they can access the relevant Lucid documents directly in Copilot and request AI-generated summaries that help them understand where projects are, what their team is thinking, and what the next steps are.

Coordinate activities in shared space with team centers

According to a recent Lucid survey, 75% of employees say that ineffective communication or collaboration is a barrier to innovation in their organization. To address this, Lucid is bringing teams together in a common, centralized place called Team Hubs. This is a new team experience that allows team members to easily track progress, initiate and discuss work, and make decisions faster.

Team hubs provide comprehensive access to all team documentation. A team manager can create a team hub and add their immediate reports to give them full access to the critical documentation and useful resources they need to continue their projects and more easily obtain the latest updates. Users can even create team hubs for specific project groups or scrum teams to improve cross-functional collaboration.

In the Team Hub, users can also pin a Team Space, or team home base, for coordination. For example, a scrum team can pin their sprint planning board because they will regularly refer back to and collaborate on this document to understand what goals will be achieved during the sprint.

By powering AI-powered collaboration and improving team communication, Lucid is a leader in defining what effective collaboration looks like for hybrid teams, building the advanced capabilities teams need today to stay consistent, innovative and productive in their workflows.
