Interstate Gang: Interstate gang busted for stealing gadgets from cars | Noida News

Noida: An interstate ‘thak-thak’ gang that stole electronic items from cars was busted on Wednesday. The gang, active in the NCR for the past few months, targeted more than a dozen cars, breaking their windows to steal electronic devices like laptops and mobile phones. Multiple cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations in the city.Two members of the gang — Paramjeet from Delhi and Sanjay from Bihar — were arrested on Wednesday from the Knowledge Park area of ​​Greater Noida. A total of 43 mobile phones and a country-made pistol with a live cartridge were recovered from the accused. “On June 19, we received a call about theft of 4-5 mobile phones from cars parked outside Galgotias college and IIMT college. A police team reached the spot and found that the mobile phones were stolen by breaking the windows of the car,” said Ashok Kumar, additional DCP (Greater Noida). “We set up a checkpoint near Lloyd T-point after receiving information about the movement of the suspects in the area. We stopped an Ertiga car for checking, after which Paramjeet and Sanjay were arrested,” Kumar said. “During interrogation, the accused revealed that they used the Ertiga car to carry out recce. They targeted cars parked outside colleges during exams and table several items,” said Knowledge part police station in-charge Vipin Kumar. “Sanjay has been an active member of the gang for several years. The first case registered against him was in 2008. Since then, he has been arrested several times,” Vipin added.A case has been registered against the accused under sections 379 (theft) and 427 (mischief causing damage) of the Indian Penal Code .
