KAB is partnering with Permodalan Kedah Berhad to expand its power generation business

Kinergy Advancement Berhad (KAB), one of the top 10 sustainable energy solutions providers in the APAC region for 2024, known as a comprehensive sustainable energy and engineering solutions specialist, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Permodalan Kedah Berhad (PKB), a Kedah-based state-owned investment company. The MoU, signed on June 19, 2024 through KAB’s wholly owned subsidiary, KAB Energy Holdings Sdn Bhd (KABEH), aims to support clean renewable energy projects.

The partnership will leverage the combined technical and business expertise of both entities. PKB will focus on identifying potential land for renewable energy projects and securing the necessary licenses and permits for the projects. KABEH will handle the technical aspects, based on its extensive experience in the energy sector.

The collaboration covers various power generation projects in Malaysia, particularly in Kedah. The agreement covers Clean Energy (cogeneration, waste heat recovery), Renewable Energy (solar power plants/farms and floating solar cells, roof photovoltaic cells, waste-to-energy conversion, hydroelectric plants), Energy-saving solutions (building management systems, optimization of refrigeration units) and the scope of work engineering (infrastructure and internal construction works). In addition, the partnership is exploring new opportunities, including battery storage systems, district cooling systems and a commitment to further cooperation on sharing resources and information.

Through this joint effort, KAB aims to expand its presence in the Malaysian market, enhancing its sustainable energy portfolio and strengthening its position as a comprehensive energy and engineering solutions provider.
