The owner of a holiday park buys two locations to expand its portfolio

Avon Estates has acquired two more residential parks as part of the company’s expansion plans.

Stratford-upon-Avon-based Avon Estates has acquired Edkins Park in Wilmcote, Stratford-upon-Avon and The Willows in Forthampton, Gloucestershire.

The family-run business currently operates 14 townhouse and holiday park developments across Central England, offering luxury townhouses, holiday home ownership, camping, glamping and self-catering holidays.

Nic Allen, director of Avon Estates, said the company had already acquired four new parks with three more deals in progress.

Allen said: The company “thrives by creating safe, community-friendly park homes in beautiful rural locations where like-minded residents enjoy a more relaxed lifestyle. As we grow, we remain committed to improving parks, giving them a family atmosphere, working with UK manufacturers to deliver high quality park homes.

“Our expansion not only meets the demand for high-quality, single-storey accommodation in peaceful locations, but also creates local employment opportunities and supports local businesses. We are also keen to explore further opportunities to acquire parks from similar, independent, family-owned businesses.”

Lodders’ Real Estate partner Alastair Frew and Leanne Lawrence, a senior associate in the corporate team, advised on the transaction.

Frew said: “The UK residential and holiday park industry is booming. If operators focus on the right market niche and manage their parks to a very high standard, they can be successful in business and that is what Avon Estates is known for.

“Edkins Park was purchased from a family that had owned it for decades, so it was particularly important that our client’s offer was as compelling as possible and provided the best path for the family. In the case of The Willows, our role was to complete the transaction quickly and thoroughly. We look forward to seeing the parks develop when work begins later this year.”
