Lafayette Economic Development Board Appointments | Business

Michael D. Soileau AND Vincent Pierre were appointed to the Lafayette Economic Development Authority board by Mayor-President Monique Boulet.

Soileau is a director of LUS Fiber and a senior business executive with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. He earned a bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Texas at Austin and a master’s degree in business administration from LSU-Shreveport.

Pierre is a municipal and electoral services adviser in Boulet’s office. He served 12 years in the Louisiana House, representing Lafayette, until leaving office this year due to term limits. He earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Southern University.

“I believe that both LCG LEDA appointments bring a wealth of experience in business and politics,” Boulet said. “Strong economic development is critical to the success of Lafayette Parish as it grows and develops. I have great confidence in the LEDA team, as well as in our new employees.”

Justin Cumbooperations specialist with the Lafayette Airport Commission, he has earned credentialed airport director status from the American Association of Airport Directors.

Cumbo has completed three phases of the accreditation process, including a 180-question exam, a writing requirement and a final interview before an AAE panel. Less than 8% of the association’s members have achieved this status.

AAAE is the world’s largest professional organization for public commercial and general aviation airports.

Ryszard Urban was appointed to the Opelousas General Hospital Board of Directors.

Urban, a certified public accountant and owner Richard Urban, CPA, will replace Charles Going, who resigned.

Urban is a graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette) and has worked as an accountant in Opelousas for 39 years.
