DTS publishes the Annual Report 2023-2024

The 2023-2024 report reviews key milestones that support the University’s digital transformation goals of increasing IT operational excellence, strengthening cybersecurity and resilience, and modernizing IT infrastructure and systems.

The report also presents examples of digital transformation already taking place at universities.

The most important thing is:

  • 911 Transformation: In 2024, the University of California implemented a new, state-of-the-art 911 system that will help reduce emergency response times on campus and may help keep the surrounding community safe.
  • AI Symposium: The day-long event at the Tangeman University Center discussed topics related to artificial intelligence in education, educational technology, research, innovation, ethics, policy and social impact. Presentations included keynotes by UCLA’s Dr. Kelly Cohen and former Synchrony Financial Chief Technology Officer Greg Simpson, as well as 16 breakout sessions led by UCLA students, faculty and staff.
  • Bearcats Health App: The app uses optical character recognition and artificial intelligence features to securely scan, digitize and verify required student immunization and screening data.

“Digital transformation happens when people, processes and technology come together to achieve our goal of student success,” said UC Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Bharath Prabhakaran. “DTS’s collaboration with UC students, faculty and staff will continue to help accelerate Next Lives Here at UC.”
