The Ogallala Police would like to remind residents of the rules and regulations regarding lighting fireworks

Ogallala, Neb. – Fireworks sales will begin in Ogallala on Sunday. The Ogallala Police Department would like to remind residents of the rules and regulations regarding the discharge of fireworks in the city.

Fireworks will go on sale in the city on Sunday, June 30, and will be available for sale through June 4. The Police Department says fireworks can be fired off within the city limits from June 30-3 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on June 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

The Police Department states that it is unlawful to discharge fireworks within 300 feet of a fireworks stand, gas station, or any commercial area where flammable materials are stored. It is also against the law to light fireworks in any public park.
