Management of Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra companies should translate the government’s vision and policies – PM

KUALA LUMPUR (June 26): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Thursday emphasised the importance of managing companies under the chairmanship of Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputra (YPB) in a manner that reflects the government’s overall vision and policies based on the mandate established by the foundation.

He added that the placement of Pelaburan Hartanah Bhd (PHB) under the management of YPB is part of the strategy to centralise Bumiputera investment institutions through YPB.

“In addition to ensuring financial returns for investors, it is important to instill knowledge about financial management, entrepreneurship and innovation in community development initiatives.

“Furthermore, government-linked enterprises of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) must take the lead in supporting the government’s activities related to the green economy, agricultural industry modernization and adequate wages,” he said in a social media post.

Anwar, who chaired a meeting of the YPB board of trustees earlier on Thursday, said YPB is playing an important role in the Bumiputera development programme through its subsidiaries PNB, Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd and Universiti Tun Abdul Razak.
