Clean Energy Opens New RNG Station in Philadelphia

The station will supply clean, low-emission RNG and will be part of an expanding national fueling network for heavy goods vehicle fleets.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. opened a new renewable natural gas (RNG) station in Carney’s Point, New Jersey for trucks and other fleet vehicles.

The new station is strategically located in the Philadelphia-Wilmington, Delaware, trucking corridor near Interstate 295 and the New Jersey Turnpike. The opening coincides with the introduction of the Cummins X15N, a 15-liter natural gas engine currently used by Walmart, Knight Swift, UPS and other heavy-duty truck fleets.

“The Carney’s Point station provides fleets operating in the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas with access to a much cleaner alternative fuel. We are pleased to provide truck fleets with a convenient location in this important corridor with an ultra-low carbon fueling experience,” said Chad Lindholm, senior vice president of Clean Energy.

The company currently has a significant customer base in the Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey area. This includes fleets such as South Jersey Gas, Atlantic City Jitney Association, Wally Park at Philadelphia International Airport, Waste Management and the City of Philadelphia Waste Operations.

The new station is now part of the Clean Energy network of more than 600 stations across North America.
