Minister Al Zeyoudi visits Silicon Valley to strengthen ties between the United Arab Emirates and the United States in the technology and innovation sectors

Dubai (UAE), June 28 (ANI/WAM): Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, has concluded a visit to San Francisco and nearby Silicon Valley aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and exploring partnership opportunities between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, especially in the area of ​​advanced technologies.
Dr Thani held a series of discussions with stakeholders, leading technology companies and local entrepreneurs to identify potential partnerships in priority areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and climate technology.
During the meetings, the Minister outlined the UAE’s ambitions for advanced technologies and an investment-friendly business environment, inviting American investors, start-ups and skilled professionals to explore expansion opportunities.
Discussions focused on joint projects, research cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience in cutting-edge disciplines such as artificial intelligence, data analytics and sustainable technologies.

Dr. Al Zeyoudi’s visit to the US underscores the UAE’s commitment to building global partnerships to accelerate its industrial and technological capabilities, and further strengthen the country’s position as a destination for investment and innovation.
Regarding the visit, the Minister noted: “The US West Coast is the global epicenter of technology and innovation, and the UAE has much to gain from closer links with the vibrant Silicon Valley ecosystem. This visit is an important part of our efforts to establish long-term partnerships across both the private, public and academic sectors to leverage their knowledge and experience and enhance the UAE’s technological capabilities. Technology is a key pillar of our economic growth and diversification agenda and it is critical that we build productivity and mutually beneficial relationships with the world’s leading players.”
The United States is the UAE’s third-largest trading partner in the world, accounting for 5.6% of the UAE’s total non-oil trade. The UAE is America’s most important trading partner in the Arab world, with bilateral trade accounting for 27% of U.S. non-oil trade with the region.
In terms of investments, the UAE has assets worth USD 38.1 billion in the US, which is over 50%. total foreign direct investment from Arab countries in America at the end of 2022
These investments mainly concern transport, business services, software and IT services, real estate, food and beverages and the aviation and space industry. (ANI/WAM)
