Dirac will make Dirac Live available on Bluesound devices

Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac and multiroom specialist Bluesound have announced a collaboration to integrate Dirac Live Room Correction with select Bluesound devices.

Dirac is a sought-after technology in home theater, and this partnership literally opens the door to all of your home audio.

Fredric Tapper, Dirac’s vice president of Home & Pro Audio, says this first collaboration with Bluesound represents a “significant milestone” for the company as it continues to strengthen its position as the industry’s leading provider of digital room correction technology.

“The way consumers listen to music at home is changing; while dedicated listening rooms were once the norm, listening spaces now include the entire home, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, basements and more,” says Tapper. “However, this expanded definition of the listening space has created new challenges for high-fidelity sound reproduction, as outdoor spaces with dynamic sizes and room dimensions can significantly impact sound quality. This industry-first collaboration with Bluesound addresses these challenges by delivering high-fidelity sound in any room or listening space, no matter how complex.”

Dirac Live solves common acoustic problems that plague all home audio systems. However, using equipment alone cannot solve them or requires too much time, expertise or money.

The software corrects both the magnitude and phase of the entire sound system, including the room itself, resulting in a more balanced sound, stronger bass, and greater clarity.

“At Bluesound, we fundamentally believe that consumers shouldn’t have to sacrifice audio quality for the convenience of streaming, and that multi-room audio streaming doesn’t have to come at the expense of high-quality audio reproduction,” says Matt Simmonds, product manager, Bluesound. “

Future Bluesound devices will be Dirac Live ready by purchasing a Dirac Live license from the Dirac website. Backward compatibility with existing Bluesound devices is also available for eligible models.

Integrators should note that the calibration kit will be available for sale on the Bluesound website once the first Bluesound-capable player is available.
