Vodafone is giving its Pro II broadband customers a free security package that can protect up to 150 devices – but they will lose a key feature

Vodafone has announced a new suite of security tools that it says can protect more than 150 connected devices in a household.

Anyone trying to keep an eye on their children, protect their network from viruses, limit their social media use and do anything else related to broadband security should seriously consider purchasing the new Secure Net Home service, which is free for Broadband Pro customers 2nd package.

The company claims that Secure Net Home is the most comprehensive set of tools on the market, including real-time protection that filters almost everything bad on your network to your Wi-Fi router, so you can rest easy.

Monitor your network with ease

With a handy app for iOS and Android, Secure Net Home lets the account manager (most likely you) create profiles for each internet user before assigning specific rules to a set of devices. So your child’s iPad, Nintendo Switch, iPhone, and other devices will all be subject to the same set of restrictions immediately.

Vodafone also includes a handy ‘internet pause’ feature for family moments like dinner, which lets you limit internet access for an hour at the touch of a button. There’s also a ‘focus time’ feature that limits access to games and other entertainment for a set period of time. Finally, there’s a ‘set bedtime’ tool.

Like many of the best data scraping tools, Secure Net Home includes 24/7 monitoring of your personal information on the dark web to help keep your data safe.

Monitoring includes email addresses, credit card details and more, and users can choose how much or how little to monitor. Anything suspicious is immediately reported to the app.

Unfortunately for those outside the UK, the 24/7 monitoring only applies to the UK, so bear this in mind when choosing your broadband plan.
